Procedures We Offer
Fillings:
We use only top quality, tooth colored, adhesive bonded filling materials with wear resistance as hard as silver amalgams and more strengthening of the teeth.
Crowns:
We use beautiful porcelain fused to gold “Captek” crowns in most cases. These “Captek Crowns” are proven to reduce bacterial buildup at the gum line more than any other type of crown.
Fixed Bridgework:
Here we often use a porcelain fused to a slightly stronger gold where more than 3 teeth are involved. They are equally beautiful and natural looking but have slightly more cost due to the type and amount of gold required. *Please know that all our crowns and bridges are made in USA labs.
Vivaneers OR 6 Month Smiles:
Vivaneers are a two visit alternative to 6 Month Smiles for “slightly crowded” front teeth or closing spaces. Learn more about this two visit, no shot, no drilling alternative!
6 Month Smiles concentrates on correcting the front teeth for a near perfect smile without involving the back teeth and thus shortens the treatment times and costs. Learn more!
Implants:
A wonderful, but relatively costly way to replace teeth. The artificial root (implant) is placed surgically in the jaw and after a period of healing and stabilization, a special type of porcelain and gold crown or crowns are cemented on to it. This part of the procedure is completed in our office. The cost for the crown is approximately one third more than regular crowns because of the complexities require to fit the implant.
Partial Dentures:
Removable appliances made of thin, strong, time tested Vitallium metal to serve as a framework to replace both front and back teeth. Where metal clasps would seem unsightly when too close to the front of the mouth, we can use newly developed clear, flexible clasps which are nearly invisible for a small, additional cost. Removable partial dentures can replace quite a few teeth at a much lower cost than porcelain and gold fixed bridgework.
Immediate Upper Full Dentures:
Where tooth damage or finances dictate a full upper denture, we recommend removal of the remaining back teeth first, keeping 4-6 front teeth and letting the back tooth sockets heal and smooth over a bit prior to taking an impression for the construction of the immediate denture. This allows us to use a couple of appointments to check the look, color and bite of the back teeth prior to having the denture finished to it’s final state, ready for removal of the remaining front teeth and insertion of the finished denture the same day. Healing and shrinkage over the next few months will result in considerable loosening of the denture, sore spots (which we adjust at no charge) and the need for the use of denture adhesives for some time until healing is complete. Then it will be necessary to RELINE the denture which will greatly improve the fit. This reline procedure of course is an additional cost. This can be avoided by having all teeth removed initially, going 2 or 3 months without any teeth at all until the ridges are healed and smooth and then doing the denture.
Root Canals:
While we don’t do root canals on all types of teeth (especially molars… we refer them to specialists), we do lots of them forward of the molars and they are done with newly developed equipment and technique which greatly simplifies the procedure with little or not discomfort. This allows us to often avoid the need for an implant or fixed bridge or partial. In most cases it is recommended that a crown be placed on any posterior teeth and some front teeth that have had root canal therapy for strength purposes.
Extractions:
If teeth are so badly broken down that they could not possibly be saved, or if personal finances dictate that they must be removed, we are pleased to tell you that we have recently acquired a new revolutionary technique and instruments for removing teeth that greatly MINIMIZES the patients trauma, time for removal and the need for full surgical extractions with bone removal and placement of sutures.
