Traditionally most dentists learned , including Dr. Lofgren, to do porcelain veneers on front teeth which involved cutting down the front and side surfaces of the teeth, and cementing the 1.5millimeter to 2.0 millimeter thick porcelain veneers on the teeth. In 2003, Dr. Lofgren learned of a new approach for porcelain veneers which involved no need for shots or drilling of the teeth because a lab in California had produced an extremely strong porcelain which could be cemented directly over the front teeth and they were only .3 millimeters thick. They were called LUMINEERS. Dr. Lofgren attended special courses in Las Vegas, as well as the LUMINEER on site dental office/lab in California to learn the technique first hand and become a Certified Provider. He completed a number of cases himself in his own office and confirmed that the concept was valid and that patients loved the simple, 2 visit concept.

Now, after establishing “Giving Back” Dental and realizing that numerous other laboratories were now offering excellent .3mm veneers at lower cost than Lumineers, Dr. Lofgren has chosen “VIVANEERS” from Glidewell Laboratories in California and can offer the same 2 visit “NO SHOT, NO DRILLING, NO KIDDING!” service to his patients at a cost significantly lower than for Lumineers. Be sure to ask about them when you come in if you are not happy with your smile.

Vivaneers are a two visit alternative to 6 Month Smiles for “slightly crowded” front teeth or closing spaces.
